I first posted about the extremely obscure 1990 Miami production
Satan Place a few months ago. At the time, we only had an image of the tie-in comic book. Now, thanks to the obsessive folks over at
VHS Wasteland, I've come across an image of the video box (above).
You can see their original post
here, along with an image of the back and side of the box.
I'd still love to talk to someone who has actually seen this one, so feel free to drop us a line if you know anything about it.
If you're not adverse to torrents, Cinemageddon has it for download.

ReplyDeleteI've absolutely seen it. I bought an ex-rental tape of it with no outer sleeve from a video store closeout a couple of years ago and finally got around to watching it last year. It's fantastic -- definitely not the cheapest horror anthology (Tales From The Quadead Zone) or the most inscrutable (Ghost Stories: Graveyard Thriller), but it's a keeper. I'd like to send you a DVD-R copy of it, and I could scan the comic book to a PDF if you're interested as well.
ReplyDeleteThere's also another film you might be interested in: Road Meat. I've
not actually watched the DVD-R I have as yet, so I can't vouch for the film itself, but as far as background goes, I understand that it's a horror-comedy that was shot in Ohio in '87 by a man named Bill Bragg. Jay Woelfel (Beyond Dream's Door) also worked as the DP on it. Evidently it was shopped around to distributors and abandoned when it wasn't picked up. I'd gladly send it to you along with Satan Place if you're
interested. Let me know!
