Trailer of the Week: Dungeon of Harrow (1962)

This isn't an original trailer, mind you, but we had to post this preview of Vinegar Syndrome's upcoming release of Pat Boyette's Texas-lensed Dungeon of Harrow (out on a double feature disc with Death By Invitation). The film has been restored, and looks better than it has in decades -- probably since its original release.

Trailer of the Week: Blood Salvage (1990)

Here's an underrated flick made in Georgia by some indie filmmakers from Hollywood. Normally that would preclude the film from my definition of "regional," but this one makes the cut thanks to director Tucker Johnston, who previously worked on Southern Shockers with this film's co-writer, Ken Sanders. You can read a little more about the film here.

Rondo Voting Has Begun - And We're Up for an Award

The annual Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Awards are coming up, and voting has begun on the increasingly lengthy ballot. My book, Regional Horror Films, has been nominated in the "Book of the Year" category, so please head on over to the Rondo site and send in your vote per the instructions on the top of the page.

Other regional horror-related nominees include the Film Chest restoration of Zaat!, the Night of the Living Dead Karen Cooper bobblehead toy from Drastic Plastic, and Eli Roth's featurette on the Mother's Day DVD.

Although the ballot is long, you don't have to vote in every category, and you can write-in nominees if you like. There's also some find work on the ballot from Tim Lucas, David Konow, Mike Gingold, Chris Poggiali, and other writers.

Voting ends April 7.
